25. Winter Skin Survival Guide.
An arsenal of the best lip oils, face moisturizers, and body lotions for winter
Someone flipped the switch early, and winter is officially here. That icy outside air? Perfect for layering, terrible for our skincare routines. It’s literally a moisture suck, stealing hydration from our skin, hair, and lips. Meanwhile, the dry, heated air inside isn’t much better. Together, they leave us with chapped lips, flaky skin, and dry hands. Below is a round-up of product faves and a few tips for your winter face, lip, body, and manicure routine.
● Face
You need a good face moisturizer and face oil combo to hydrate, lock in moisture, and make it last throughout the day.
Look for formulas packed with hyaluronic acid, ceramides, or squalane. Want to double down? Layer your moisturizer over a hydrating serum for maximum plumpness. And don’t skimp on SPF. Yes, even in winter. The sun doesn’t take holidays just because it’s cold.

⌾ Typology Hydrating Serum with 3% Hyaluronic Acid + 2% B5 to add another layer of moisture.
⌾ Clinique Moisture Surge™ 100H Auto-Replenishing Hydrator Moisturizer for all-day staying power.
⌾ Pai Skincare Rosehip Bioregenerate Face Oil to lock it all in. *I finally found an oil that hasn’t clogged my pores.
● Lips
I’m not going to lie. There are tubes of Carmex all over my house, but I’ll also admit that lip care has, thankfully, come a long way, and I love good lip treatment, too. One that does what it says it’s going to do. Because the last thing you want is glossy, chapped lips.

● Body
In the winter, opt for a thicker body cream, looking for ingredients like urea, jojoba oil, coconut oil, and aloe vera. Just like for your face, a serum will supercharge hydration, and an oil is a good last step to lock everything in. Make sure to apply it when your skin is still damp from the shower. Yes, this is an extra step. Yes, it’s worth it.

● Hands
Let’s not forget about the tiny, hardworking barriers protecting your nails. Cold weather can dry out your cuticles. The fix? Cuticle oil.
Massage the oil into your cuticles before bed or whenever your hands feel like they need it. If oil feels too messy, a cuticle cream works wonders, too.
Pro tip: Rub a little cuticle oil over your nails even if they’re painted—it keeps polish looking fresh and chip-free for longer.
